Levy continues quality education

To the Editor:

I am writing today to urge readers to vote “YES” on Issue 3, the continuing renewal of the 50 year old permanent improvement levy for Tipp City Schools on Nov. 6, 2018.

I am a proud Tippecanoe graduate (class of 2001) with two young children entering the school system in the 2020-2021 school year. This 2 mil continuous levy pays for the school building maintenance/improvements, buses and technology. I chose to move back to Tipp City to raise my family primarily so that they could be given the quality educational opportunities that I had.

In order for the schools to uphold these standards they must have the funds available from this permanent improvement levy which allows the district to continue to maintain the current school buildings. Most importantly the renewal of this levy adds zero new taxes. The most recent project this money is being used towards is the instillation of energy-efficient windows, updated fire alarm systems, and safety cameras.

The schools are the backbone to our community and I ask you to join me Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, to vote “YES” on Issue 3.
