TROY — Water Street will be closed to traffic between Cherry and Oxford Streets on Wednesday, May 1, to accommodate the Miami County Law Enforcement Memorial Day Ceremony.

Piqua celebrates Arbor Day

The girls, along with other fourth graders and attendees, on Monday, April 23, witnessed a special presentation by Certified Arborist Mark Caldwell, of Tree Care Inc., and Piqua Mayor Kris Lee, who read a proclamation in honor of the event. The students were each given a chance to help plant an oak tree in the school’s Tribe Garden. Following that, the students were each given a burr oak tree to take home with them. The trees were given to the students by Tree Care Inc.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has signed House Bill 34, sponsored by Reps. Roy Klopfenstien, R-Haviland. and Angela King, R-Celina, into law. The new law permits a prospective juror who is a mother who is breast-feeding to be excused from jury service.

Bradford HS announces prom court

Bradford High School has announced its 2024 prom court, which includes, in the top row, Trey Schmelzer, Garrett Trevino, Hudson Hill, Landon Wills ,Tucker Miller, and in the bottom row, Izabella Painter, Alani Canan,Teagan Canan and Braylyn Reynolds. The dance will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m. at the Covington Eagles on East Broadway Street in Covington.
