CENTERVILLE — Wrestlers from across Southwest Ohio squared off for the first day of the Division I sectional tournament Friday at Centerville High School.

HUBER HEIGHTS — With its season on the line after back-to-back losses to Archbishop Hoban and Miamisburg, the Wayne Warriors handed previously undefeated Northmont a sound 49-20 defeat Friday.

FAIRBORN — After suffering through frigid temperatures and record rainfall upon returning from the annual spring break trip to Florida, the Northmont varsity baseball team Thursday played its first game in Ohio with a 14-4 rout of Bethel at Wright State University.

CLAYTON — Northmont took a 2-0 lead vs. Vandalia-Butler in Senior ACME baseball action Thursday evening but the Aviators rallied with three runs in the 4th inning and five runs in the 5th to rout the Thunderbolts 8-2.

Bolts lose in 10 innings to Centerville

FAIRBORN – A dropped fly ball in the bottom of the 10th inning Friday and a missed throw to the cutoff man allowed Centerville hitter Riley Poulton to score the winning run as the Elks edged Northmont 4-3 at Wright State.

Lady Warriors score runaway win vs. Ponitz

HUBER HEIGHTS — Despite the loss of point guard Nyla Hampton to an ankle sprain earlier in the day the Wayne girls basketball team had little difficulty scoring a runaway 69-28 victory Saturday over Dayton City League opponent Ponitz Career Technology Center.

BELLBROOK — The visiting Wayne Warriors jumped on Bellbrook pitching early, then extended the lead for a 6-1 non-league high school baseball win, April 10.
