PIQUA — Mainstreet Piqua on Friday announced that its annual event Taste of the Arts has been postponed for the time being due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Doug Lins of Troy, left, hands off a pizza at the St. Patrick Soup Kitchen on Thursday evening. Lins, along with his fellow soup kitchen board members, handed out 400 pizzas to members of the community. The pizzas were purchased thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous donor. The pizzas were also provided by nine local pizza establishments in Troy.
TROY — The Troy Strawberry Festival, Inc. Board of Directors announced Friday morning that, based on an abundance of caution, it will cancel the 2020 festival.
MIAMI COUNTY — Thanks to a donation by a local company, owned by a first responder, local law enforcement officers on duty will have access to commercial grade cleaning equipment to keep the COVID-19 virus at bay.
Piqua Public Library Children’s Department staff member Sharon Kiser of Piqua reads children’s books for her weekly Story Time via Facebook Live on Thursday morning. Kiser decided to move her popular Story Time program online because she misses reading to the children and wants to make sure they have access to books and stories in spite of the recent COVID-19 events. Story Time With Sharon can be seen on Facebook Live every Thursday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Rain clouds linger over downtown Troy on Wednesday as workers in forklifts, scissor lifts, and bucket trucks continue to repair damage done by the January tornadoes that hit Troy.
